July 7 is the Star Festival (Tanabata:[link]) in Japan.
The wish is written in the strip of paper and the bamboo is decorated. I drew while not thinking it was amusing even if Mononoke stayed in people's wishes.

Wah, thought it was bamboo at first, in the center of the picture--but the branches seem too widespread to be bamboo. =x Ahh, EITHER WAY.

Very beautiful, very mysterious feeling. I love the old-parchment-mixed-with-storybook feel to it, too. XD Awesome job! <33
